instrument rating sim lessons

my first instrument rating simulator lesson (frasca) was a couple of days ago. it's pretty sensitive so i was "all over the sky" but i'm hoping to get the hang of it soon. i've got 9 more or so and then we hit (so to speak) the real sky. i'm looking forward to all of it.

Congratulations on passing your instrument written. VFR flying is fun, but instrument flying is far more rewarding. And once you escape a simulator and enter the "real time" environment of an airplane, it becomes a whole lot easier.

I also find actual instrument conditions easier than simulated. We've done a little bit of actual with our old instructor... and I find it far easier to fly than if I'm under a hood and having to deal with the distraction of the device itself. Of course, I have a small head and any view-limiting device tends to slip down over my eyes anyway!
